LOS ANGELES, CA – Thursday, November 12, 2026, is the final deadline to submit Oscars® Submission Forms (OSF) in the Best Picture, Animated Feature, and general entry categories to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for 99th Academy Awards® consideration. Films will not be accepted for consideration after the deadline.
For a feature film to be considered for the 99th Awards, the film’s distributor or producer must upload via our submission website a scanned, signed copy of the OSF and legal billing (complete on-screen credits). The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. PT on November 12.
While the submission deadline is Thursday, November 12, feature films have until Thursday, December 31, 2026, to open in a commercial motion picture theater in one of the six qualifying U.S. metro areas: Los Angeles County; City of New York [five boroughs]; the Bay Area [counties of San Francisco, Marin, Alameda, San Mateo and Contra Costa, California]; Chicago [Cook County, Illinois]; Dallas-Fort Worth [Dallas County, Tarrant County, Texas]; and Atlanta [Fulton County, Georgia] and begin a minimum run of seven consecutive days in the same commercial motion picture theater, during which period screenings must occur at least three times daily, with at least one screening beginning between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. daily, to be eligible for 2026 Awards consideration. Submitting the confidential Representation and Inclusion Standards Entry (RAISE) form and meeting two of the four standards is also required for eligibility in the Best Picture category for the 99th Oscars.
